Paranormal Activity 3 has scared off competition to take the top slot at the U.K. box office.
The third movie in the spooky film series debuted at number one in the U.S. in its opening weekend, and now it has followed suit across the Atlantic by storming to the top of the British movie chart.
The film opened with takings of $5.1 million (£3.4 million), booting Johnny English Reborn into second place with $3.08 million (£2.05 million).
Pandemic drama Contagion is at three, followed by The Lion King 3D and Real Steel. Tilda Swinton's highly-anticipated adaptation of bestselling book We Need To Talk About Kevin opened in seventh place.
