Pamela Anderson Saves Street Dog From India
The former Baywatch bombshell is an avid campaigner for animal rights, and has long supported the work of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).
She was left upset at the amount of dogs left to fend for themselves on the streets of India during a recent promotional trip, and asked Peta India bosses to bring her one of the abandoned puppies when bosses flew to the U.S. for meetings.
The adopted pet is called Pyari, and was saved from a construction site in Mumbai.
Anderson says, "I'm thrilled to be able to give Pyari a loving home. I already have rescued dogs, and I urge everyone to join me in adopting a homeless dog from their local animal shelter or the streets instead of buying a so-called 'pedigree'."
