Paloma Faith ''died a little bit'' with nerves before her BAFTA Awards performance last night (10.02.13).

The 27-year-old singer opened the prestigious ceremony with a rendition of her hit 'Never Tear us Apart' and while she does not usually suffer from jitters, she admits she got a little star-struck by the big-name celebrities in the audience at London's Royal Opera House.

Speaking just before entering the official DISARONNO BAFTA After-Party at the Grosvenor House Ballroom, she told Rick Edwards: ''I cast my eyes down and saw who was there and just died a little bit inside.

''Then my hands started shaking involuntarily and I was like ... now's not a good time, I told myself off and carried on.''

Despite her nerves, Paloma impressed 'Django Unchained' star Samuel L. Jackson, who loved her performance.

She said: ''Samuel L. Jackson just came up to me afterwards and said, 'You did an amazing job!' I was like this ...'' She then pulled a shocked face.

Paloma admitted she was looking forward to the after-party but she was determined not to drink too much ahead of her gig in Sheffield tonight (11.02.13).

She explained: ''I'm actually on a middle of a tour so I've got to play Sheffield tomorrow and I want them to get the price of a ticket ... not Hungover Paloma.''
