Ozzy 'Insulted' By Police Stingby Contributor | 05 November 2007
Veteran rocker OZZY OSBOURNE has hit out at a US police chief who staged a fake party in the star's name to try to catch 500 criminals, without asking Ozzy for permission first.
Sheriff Paul Loney invited hundreds of petty criminals on outstanding warrants to the 'party' in Fargo, North Dakota, just days before Ozzy was set to play in the area.
When 30 people did turn up at the nightclub expecting to meet and greet the reality TV star they were promptly arrested.
Despite the success of the operation, Ozzy was less-than-impressed with the Sheriff's actions.
In a statement he said: "Sheriff Laney should be apologising to me for using my name in connection with these arrests.
"It is insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job," he added.
While Ozzy tours the US, his wife SHARON OSBOURNE is set to stage a walkout from THE X FACTOR, alongside fellow judge LOUIS WALSH, the Daily Star has reported.
