Ozzy Feared He'd Die In Helicopter Crash On His 60th Birthday
OZZY OSBOURNE feared he'd die on his 60th birthday in December (08) when his wife SHARON organised a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon for him.
The rocker had long dreamed of flying over the natural wonder, but when his wife surprised him with the trip of a lifetime on his birthday, all he could think about was his own death.
Ozzy says, "We get to the Grand Canyon and I've got a helicopter and I'm going, 'Hang about, this is too good to be true. I'm with my wife and this... guy flying helicopters over the Grand Canyon.'
"I'm thinking, 'This is it, on my 60th birthday, I'm gonna be found in eight zillion pieces at the bottom.'
"There was not even a co-pilot. If that thing goes out, you are, like, dead."
And Ozzy's fears started to worry his wife - especially when he pointed out the pilot was a little chubby.
She explains, "He goes, 'Don't you think he's overweight?' and I was like, 'Why should you care?' and he goes, 'Heart attack!'"
