Ozomatli Get Us Grant To Make History In India

Urban rockers OZOMATLI have landed a Fullbright-Hays grant from the US State Department to tour India and Nepal as ambassadors. The three-time Grammy Award winners will represent America as Cultural Ambassadors on a trip through the sub-continent later this month (FEB07). As guests of the US Embassy in India, the group will take part in free public concerts, musical workshops, master classes, and community outreach programmes. Ozomatli's stops will inclue the Arya Anathalaya Orphanage and School, the Prayas Juvenile Aid Center and the Ravi Shankar Institute for Music and Performing Arts in New Delhi. The Los Angeles-based group will also become the first act ever for perform at Nek Chand's Rock Garden in Chandiargh, a sculpture garden and amphitheatre built entirely of industrial waste items, and a world ecological landmark.
