Out Now: UK Album Releases (Nov 5), Robbie Williams, JLS, Aerosmith, Ne-Yo
Calvin Harris will most likely be taking a peek at this week’s UK album’s releases (Monday November 5, 2012) and resigning himself to handing over the albums chart crown to Robbie Williams, come Sunday. In fact, it’s quite appropriate that Robbie has named his album Take The Crown, because that’s exactly what we think he’ll be doing this week.
Take The Crown is Robbie Williams’ ninth solo studio album and if the first single to be lifted from the album is anything to go by, it’s heading straight for the top of the charts. ‘Candy’ went in at number one yesterday, following an appearance from Williams on the UK’s X Factor show the previous weekend. The former Take That singer recently welcomed his first child into the world – what better way to celebrate than with a number one album?

Talking of X Factor – one of the show’s most successful exports is the boy band JLS, who release their fourth album today. Entitled Evolution, it was preceded by the Top 10 single ‘Hottest Girl In The World.’ Evolution marks a change of direction in the band, who now seem less reliant on ballads and more on upbeat Justin Timberlake-style numbers, which will inevitably please their already enormous fanbase.

From over the pond, Aerosmith have returned, following an 11-year hiatus from writing any new material. Time appears to have stood still on Aerosmith-land in those eleven years and Music From Another Dimension is pretty much as you would expect an Aerosmith album to sound. It’s been received with a sense of fatigue by many music critics in the UK; it remains to be seen whether or not their enduring popularity will have survived such a lengthy hiatus.

Ne-Yo will be trying to woo the UK music buying public with his R&B charm this week, with the release of R.E.D. (an acronym for Realising Every Dream, apparently). It’s Ne-Yo’s debut album wit the legendary Motown Records and follows the disappointment of his 2010 album Libra Scale. He’s reunited with old pals StarGate on production duties and he’s also teamed up with country star Carrie Underwood, on ‘She Is,’ as well as enlisting the help of Sia Furler on ‘Let Me Love You.’
