Osbourne's World 'Stopped' When He Heard Lennon Had Died

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne was so devastated when his wife SHARON broke the news ex-BEATLE John Lennon had been shot dead in 1980, his "world stopped".
Osbourne's favourite band is The Beatles, and he found it difficult to cope with the news Lennon had been murdered in New York City.
He recalls, "The world stopped for me when Sharon told me that John Lennon had been shot in New York. I can't even describe how I felt.
"If he was a politician, a soldier, anything else, it would be, 'Oh yeah, well he is in that kind of business,' but the amount of joy and hope that he gave people was just remarkable."
Osbourne adds, "I often daydream about whether they would ever have reformed. I never saw The Beatles, I saw Paul MCCartney play but never saw The Beatles - I would have loved to have seen them play."

I also think of John Lennon and The Beatles every day of my life. I play Beatles music in my car every day and I take my grandchildren to Liverpool every year (Beatles International Week) to hear all the great tribute bands. My grandaughter who is only 9yrs old knows every Beatle song and all of John Lennon's Solo songs. I am keeping the faith.

There's not a day that passes that in some way I think of John Lennon. He and the rest of the Beatles are like family members, we love them. They spoke and we listened, they were a part of our lives. They brought joy, hope and opened our eyes to a better world. In conversation, I often quote John Lennon, his words were honest and inspiring. I am happy to have lived when the Beatles were a part our lives. My children and even my grandson, know, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. God bless them...
