Osbourne Admits Beatles 'Inspiration'

BLACK SABBATH frontman OZZY OSBOURNE drew inspiration from an unlikely source in the recording studio - pop act THE BEATLES. The rocker confesses he's been a lifelong fan of the Liverpool, England, group - despite his heavy metal tastes lying uncomfortably against their more commercial sound. And he even credits the foursome with giving him the motivation to achieve global success. He says, "Sometimes people wonder how exactly The Beatles inspired Black Sabbath, but they inspired me to keep dreaming and those dreams haven't gone to waste because I get letters from Paul MCCartney now."

To the person who posted this: The song Helter Skelter by The Beatles is considered the FIRST heavy rock or metal song ever written. It was featured in the 'white album' in 1967. Maybe you should try and hear some of their full lenght albums not the typical 'greatest hits' compilations everybody's heard. The Beatles have contributed greatly with their music and ideology to the Rock, Pop and (subsequently)Punk scenes we know today.
