Osama Bin Laden Film 'Zero Dark Thirty' Streams First Trailer

No one knows anything about Kathryn Bigelow's Bin Ladenmovie but 'Zero Dark Thirty'' is already looking like the most controversial film of the year thanks to its subject matter. Osama Bin Laden was killed on May 2nd of last year, and the creators of the film, Mark Boal and Kathryn Bigelow, were already well under way to documenting the search to find the missing terrorist. The pair, who created 'The Hurt Locker', changed their project entirely when it turned out at the U.S. army had killed the man widely held as responsible for the attacks on New York's twin towers on September 11th 2001.

'Zero Dark Thirty' dramatizes the search to find Bin Laden, and the creators of it released the first teaser trailer this week, whilst Boal also discussed the feature, which is already one of the most talked about of 2012 with its release not until December 19th. "I'm fascinated by people who dedicate themselves to really difficult and dangerous things for the greater good" he told Entertainment Weekly, "I think they're heroic and I'm intrigued by them. I'm fascinated by the world they inhabit. I personally want to know how they caught bin Laden. All I can do is hope that it interests other people."

With this being election year, the timing of the film is interesting, but Boal is keen to point out there is no political agenda in its narrative. "There's no political agenda in the film. Full stop. Period," he said "A lot of people are going to be surprised when they see the film. For example, the president is not depicted in the movie. He's just not in the movie."
