Organisers Slammed For 'Duran Duran' Olympics Booking - Comments and Message Board

We can't have everyone's favourite band performing at this concert but we can give Duran Duran the credit and respect that they deserve. They exude enduring talent, energy and glamour. They have the ability to put a smile on our faces with their music while we momentarily forget about all the crap in this world.... isn't this part of the essence of the Olympic games? England should be proud... they have sold over 100 million albums, over 14 top 10 hits in the UK, over 21 hits in the USA and their current album reached no.1 on itunes in over 15 countries around the world! Not worthy of representing England Tony Parsons?

Why shouldn't Duran Duran represent England at the Olympics? This band is one of the most successful groups to have come out of this country, they have won numerous awards for their music and iconic videos, and toured all over the world to sell-out shows. While Duran Duran are constantly keeping their music fresh and relevant, it seems that their critics are stuck in the past by trotting out the usual sarcastic comments whenever this band are in the media. Duran Duran have always had to put up with this kind of backlash since the beginning, but they're still going strong. They are a real band, who write and play real music, and can rock with the best of them, so their success just proves how much of this criticism is unfounded. I rest my case.

As the next line says...."One key problem with that booking came when the organisers discovered Moon had died in 1978 after swallowing 32 clomethiazole tablets."

That's what the next line says. "One key problem with that booking came when the organisers discovered Moon had died in 1978 after swallowing 32 clomethiazole tablets."
