The members of Orange County, California rock band IMPERIAL STARS were arrested on Tuesday (12Oct10) after they staged an impromptu concert on the back of a truck parked across the 101 Freeway.
The publicity stunt caused traffic chaos in Los Angeles.
The bandmates hopped atop the lorry to perform Traffic Jam 101 after the vehicle had parked across two lanes of the busy freeway.
L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore, who was stuck in the traffic behind the stunt, admits he was stunned by the audacity of the band.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "A rock band blocking one of the busiest freeways in L.A.? I thought I’d seen everything in L.A."
Bandmates Christopher Wright, Keith Yackey and David Paul Hale were arrested.
