Onefest 2012: Damon Albarn Set To Headline

Damon Albarn will be headlining OneFest 2012. The festival was previously known as HoneyFest, when it was launched in 2010 in the Valley of Pewsey, Wiltshire. This year it will be held at Tumuli Field, Rockley, Marlborough.

Albarn commented on OneFest: 'I'm really looking forward to the festival; Wiltshire in Spring feels like a perfect setting for Dr Dee songs. Some of my favourite musicians are playing with me, it will be special.' Albarn will be playing some of his songs from his 2001 opera, Dr. Dee, which is based on the life of John Dee, who was Elizabeth I's medical and scientific advisor. It was recently announced that Albarn was going to turn Dr. Dee into a studio album, which will be released in May 2012.

Other acts playing at this year's OneFest include Dry the River; The Magic Numbers' Michele Stodart and Jodie Marie. Dry The River was included on BBC Sound Of 2012 long list and is expected to tour the UK in the Spring, in addition to playing OneFest. Michele enjoyed success with The Magic Numbers, who spawned the hits Forever Lost and Love Me Like You. Their most recent album, The Runaway, was released in 2010. Meanwhile, Jodie Marie's debut album, Mountain Echo, was released on March 5th, 2012; the singer songwriter will also be touring the UK during April and May 2012.

OneFest 2012 will take place on April 14th, 2012 from midday to 10pm. Tickets are available through the festival's website.
