One Direction's Zayn Malik Quits Twitter Over 'The Haters'
According to the UK Press Association, the 19 year-old boy band singer, who is dating Perrie Edwards of the girl group Little Mix, posted a parting message to his fans, explaining that he simply couldn't handle all of the negative comments that he receives via the micro-blogging site. His message read: "The reason I don't tweet as much as i use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily. Goodbye Twitter. Fans that have something to say can tweet me on the one direction account." Anyone trying to access his Twitter feed now will simply be greeted with a message that reads "Sorry, that account no longer exists."
One Direction are scheduled to appear at next month's MTV Video Music Awards, alongside Taylor Swift and No Doubt. The band have spent several months this year touring the United States and it seems to have paid off for them, as they find themselves sharing a stage with some of the world's biggest music stars.
