One Direction - One Direction, Mumford & Muse Lead British Invasion On U.s. Charts
Boyband One Direction have landed a second U.S. pop chart record after scoring the fastest-selling track ever by a non-American artist.
They became the first British group to top the U.S. album chart with a debut release earlier this year (12) and now their new hit Live While We're Young has rocketed them back into the Billboard record books after it topped the Digital Tracks and Songs Chart with 341,000 first week sales.
The new song debuts at number three on the main Billboard Hot 100 countdown, behind Maroon 5's One More Night and Psy's Gangnam Style. The two tracks have been locked at numbers one and two for three successive weeks.
Meanwhile, Mumford & Sons have scored a second week at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart with Babel, keeping fellow Brits Muse off the top of the countdown. The rock trio's new release, The 2nd Law, debuts at two.
The one-two at the top of the charts marks the first time a pair of British rock bands have claimed the top two spots since 1992.
