One Direction will star in a new 3-D movie.
The 'Little Things' hitmakers confirmed they will appear in their own blockbuster next summer during an appearance on NBC's 'The Today Show', much to the delight of the 15,000 hysterical fans watching them perform in Rockefeller Plaza, New York.
Irish singer Niall Horan announced: ''We are going to do our first-ever movie and it's going to be in 3-D and it's coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013.''
'Super Size Me' director Morgan Spurlock is set to get behind the camera to direct the ''epic'' feature, which will recount the band's rise to fame since appearing on 'The X Factor' in 2010.
The boys' supportive mentor Simon Cowell has signed up to produce and thinks fans will be impressed with the finished product.
The music mogul said: ''I'm delighted we're making this film and Morgan is the perfect person to give that access-all-areas, behind-the-scenes look into what it's like to be One Direction today.
''What the band have achieved is incredible, they and their fans have made history around the world - this is for them.''
After sharing the big news, the British band - which also includes Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - serenaded their American fans with singles 'Live While We're Young' and 'Little Things' from their brand new album 'Take Me Home'.
