One Direction - One Direction Beat Rod & The Stones To Top Of The U.k. Charts

The boy band's second album, Take Me Home, has crashed into the top of the U.K. Album Chart, outselling Rod's festive collection, Merry Christmas Baby, which debuts at two.

One Direction's album opened with first-week sales of 155,000 copies to become the second fastest-selling release of the year behind Mumford & Sons' Babel, which debuted with 158,000 copies.

The Rolling Stones 50th anniversary hits collection, Grrr!, debuts at three on the new chart, while Andre Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra's Magic Of The Movies is at four and Robbie Williams' Take The Crown, which was last week's number one, drops to five.

One Direction also topple Williams in the Official U.K. Singles Chart - their new track Little Things, which was written for them by Ed Sheeran, debuts at number one.

Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven and Dna by Little Mix make up the new top three.
