Olivia Colman - Olivia Colman And Fassbender Triumph At Evening Standard Awards

Olivia Colman fought off competition from Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave, Rachel Weisz and Tilda Swinton to land the coveted Best Actress prize at the Evening Standard British Film Awards on Monday night (06Feb12).
Colman landed the honour for her star role in drama Tyrannosaur, and told the audience at the London Film Museum, "This film will be the thing I'm most proud of until I die - apart from my husband."
Michael Fassbender scored the Best Actor nod for Jane Eyre and Shame and Swinton's dark drama We Need to Talk About Kevin was named Best Film.
Veteran actor John Hurt walked away with the Alexander Walker Special Award for his contribution to cinema - and was modest about his win.
He said, "I have had them (achievement awards) before but I always thought I was a little bit too young, but I suppose when you've gone past 70 you can't really say you're too young.
"I feel very flattered, I feel very honoured, and I don't feel that I deserve it. I really don't."
Other winners at the ceremony included Andrew Haigh's Weekend (Best Screenplay), Senna (Best Documentary) and The Guard, which picked up the Peter Sellers Award for Comedy.
Writers Tom Kingsley and Will Sharpe were named Most Promising Newcomers for Black Pond, while Wuthering Heights bagged the Technical Achievement Award.
