Ok Go Take Over Los Angeles For Video Shoot
Cameras followed swarms of fans on Wednesday (17Nov10) for an all-day shoot stretching eight miles (12.87 kilometres) over Los Angeles city streets, after the band announced plans for a music "parade" on its website.
Many revellers were equipped with noisemakers, megaphones and neon instruments as they followed a street path that spelled out 'OK Go'.
On their website, the stars described their aim to create a "city-sized drawing" of the band name by using global positioning system (GPS) technology paired with a special iPhone application to mark the trek.
On location, frontman Damian Kulash told MTV News his bandmates recently realised "music doesn't need to be about the product you make all the time", insisting instead "It can just be about getting together and making sound."
OK Go has become well-known for its outrageous, high-concept music videos since its breakout clip in 2006 for the band's hit single Here It Goes Again, which featured the rockers performing an intricately choreographed dance on treadmills.
The parade video is expected to be finished by January (11).
