Odb's Mother Set To Battle Late Star's Widow In Court

The mother of rap icon OL' DIRTY BASTARD is set to battle his widow in a New York court over discrepancies in the handling of the late star's estate.
Cherry Jones will appear in Brooklyn's Surrogate Court on 1 April (08) to challenge the role of ODB's widow Icelene Jones as administrator of the rapper's estate, because she believes her son's funds are being misappropriated.
Wu-Tang Clan star ODB - real name Russell Tyrone Jones - died of an accidental drug overdose in November 2004, just two days before his 36th birthday (15Nov04).
A source close to the Jones family tells the New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "Cherry claims Icelene is misusing the funds. It's become mum vs. daughter-in-law and it's up to the judge to decide."
Earlier this year, (Feb08) Icelene Jones called for a boycott of all unofficial clothing adorning the late MC's name and image - stating she wanted to launch her own official clothing line which she believed to have been blessed by the hip-hop star.
