Octomom Squalor? Suleman Defends Herself Over Leaked Photos

Octomom, aka Nadya Suleman, defended herself on Thursday (April 26, 2012) against pictures that showed the poor condition of the home that she shares with her 14 children. The Californian mother of octuplets says she was the victim of a "set-up" over the leaked photos, one of which showed her children sitting on potties outside.

Appearing on Good Morning America, Suleman said the photographs were taken by a hairdresser, saying, "She thought it was unacceptable that they're, you know, half-naked, going potty.I mean, moms out there, come on", adding that the "outdoor potties" were used because the indoor toilet was broken temporarily. Suleman added, "We were set up.I think maybe me and my kids were set up". 'Octomom' was criticized for undergoing fertility treatments when she already had six children - she gave birth to octuplets as a single mom in 2009. She has reportedly since struggled to make ends meet, recently posing nude for the British magazine "Closer" in order to pay the rent, according to TMZ.com.

Police and social services workers visited Suleman's home on Tuesday (April 24, 2012) after a woman expressed concerns over the well-being of Suleman's children, according to La Habra police.
