Actor Jerry O'Connell is set to make his Broadway debut in new musical comedy Seminar.
The Stand By Me actor will play an aspiring young writer taking classes from a world-class scholar, Leonard, who will be portrayed by Private Lives star Alan Rickman.
Previews will begin at the Golden Theatre on 27 October, with opening night set for 20 November (11).
The stage stint will mean O'Connell will be relocating from Los Angeles to New York for the theatre run - leaving his actress wife Rebecca Romijn to look after their two-year-old twin daughters.
The film is almost half an hour longer than 'The Force Awakens'.
The actress will no doubt be returning for the long-running FX series.
The film is expected to continue without Mendes' involvement.
