Obama Weighs In On Nicki Minaj And Mariah Carey Feud
Nicky Minaj and Mariah Carey have been arguing for ages on American Idol. In fact, the two judges are both so spotlight hungry, they can’t get along for 5 minutes on or off the show without a gun threat being banded about.
But now, ladies, your president has stepped in, and you better listen to the most powerful person in the world, right? Taking time from the current austerity crisis and his battle with Mitt Romney for a second term, Obama has a few words to say about the latest Diva-off to hit the U.S, Fox reports. “I think they are going to be able to sort it out,” he said. “I am confident. I am all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backwards.” Obama went on to say that he didn’t know Minaj personally, and even though Carey is his favourite, he still listens to the rappers tunes on his iPod. There’s a man who’s in charge of the most powerful country in the world; solving feuds on talent shows and product placing the biggest company in the world.
“For anyone who's a serious-minded voter, this is ludicrous. We'd like our president focused on global crises -- like Libya for example. But Obama isn't trying to reach serious voters, he's trying to reach a few clueless young people more focused on ‘American Idol’ than American security, ” Dan Gainor, VP of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center, told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “It's not just embarrassing that Obama has lowered the office of president to "American Idol" and "Sesame Street." It's infuriating. Maybe if he focused more on the economy, some of those same college students would be able to find jobs when they graduate.”
