Oasis Ticket Sales Break Records As More Dates Are Added

British rock band OASIS have been blown away by the rate at which tickets for their 2009 stadium tour have sold.

Tickets for 2 nights at Manchester's Heaton Park and London's Wembley Stadium as well as shows in Dublin, Sunderland and Edinburgh all sold out in record time when they were made available at 9am on Friday (24OCT). It is estimated that over half a million tickets had gone by 3pm.

The band have since added a third night at both venues: Manchester (4JUN) and London (9JULY).

It is also confirmed that at 9am on Thursday (30OCT) tickets go will go on sale for another newly added show to take place on July 7th at Coventry's Ricoh Arena Stadium.

When asked by Contactmusic.com, Martin Fitzgerald of the ticket giant SeeTickets told us "The level of interest in this stadium tour has been amazing. This proves the popularity of OASIS goes from strength to strength. In the 15 years Ive been in this business, I cannot remember a day where so many tickets have been sold for one artist."

The complete tour to date is as follows:

Manchester Heaton Park - June 4th, 6th and 7th
Sunderland Stadium Of Light - June 10th
