Oasis Gig 'Could Disrupt Eu Vote'

by | 12 May 2009

SOME MIGHT SAY rock and politics do not mix, and now OASIS could be set to accidently prove the point.

The band are due to play a huge open air gig in north Manchester on June 4th, the same day as voters are set to go to the polls in the European elections, BBC News reported.

Because of the sheer size of the gig, which will be held in Heaton Park, Bury Old Road and Sheepfoot Lane will be shut from 21:30 BST, half an hour before the polls will close.

Now Bury Council has urged those looking to cast a ballot during the event to make sure they do not miss out because of the concert.

A spokesperson for the council said: "Elections officers in Bury say that one way to avoid any potential problems would be to use a postal vote."

Going to the polls earlier would be another option, he added.

Recently, cracks in the Oasis facade surfaced once more, with ROCK N ROLL STAR NOEL GALLAGHER describing his brother Liam as "the angriest man you'll ever meet. He's like a man with a fork in a world of soup".
