Nutini's Debt To Music Teacher
GRAHAM NESS, teacher at St Andrews Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, helped the LAST REQUEST star write a song called WHY, which Nutini then performed at a reception where he was spotted by an agent.
The 19-year-old says he and his mentor are still in contact after forming a close bond in the classroom: "Not many boys did the further exams in music. But when I went into Mr Ness' class he was able to play what I wanted. I wrote my first song with him."
Humble Ness says, "Paolo wrote it. I just put the finishing touches to it. It was a beautiful ballad. Even then it was obvious he had talent."
