Former NIRVANA star KRIST NOVOSELIC is considering a radical career change - he's interest in running for the post of Lieutenant Governor in his native Washington state.

The rocker, who cited industry apathy for quitting music this summer (03), is keen to enter the political arena by challenging current Governor Brad Owen.

Novoselic, 38, says, "I've been really contemplating how I want to get involved next year (04) and make a contribution.

"Nirvana was a political band, and we were the prophets of the disenfranchised. We spoke to the disenfranchised because we ourselves felt that way."

Meanwhile, the bass player is heading for the skies with one lucky fan - he's offering his services as a pilot as an item for an upcoming eBay charity auction.
