Noel Gallagher - Noel Gallagher Eyes Hiatus

The former Oasis star released his debut solo album Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds in 2011 and he has spent much of this year (12) on the road, but he is planning to take a well-earned rest once he wraps up his North American dates in November (12).

Gallagher admits he won't be recording again for a while as he doesn't want the follow-up to be compared to Oasis' critically-panned third record Be Here Now, which followed 1995's hugely successful (What's the Story) Morning Glory?.

When asked if he will be recording a new album next year (13), Gallagher tells British radio station Xfm, "No, no, no. I'm taking a well earned break after this. Why mess with brilliance? I'd only f**k it up. Look what it did to the aftermath of Morning Glory. S**t on it! Be Here Now?"
