Russell Crowe - Noah's Ark? Russell Crowe Left Stranded On Kayaking Adventure
Russell Crowe - star of the forthcoming Hollywood adaptation of 'Noah' - was left stranded on Huntington Bay after a kayaking adventure off the coast of Long Island, New York, went awry. The Oscar winner was helped by the U.S. Coast Guard team on Saturday (September 1, 2012) though tried to convince Twitter followers that he had everything under control.
The 48-year-old and his pal launched their kayak from Cold Spring Harbor and were paddling around Long Island Sound when they lost their way. After hunkering down until about 10pm in Huntington Bay they were eventually spotted by the coast guards, who later told Reuters, "It is common for the Coast Guard to assist boaters like this, but it was very cool to help Russell Crowe and his friend". After a couple of his followers poked fun at the incident, Russell assured his fans, "not lost, we knew where exactly where we were, paddling around from csh into wind, we ran out of day. Grand adventure eh". Somewhat ironically, the actor is currently in Long Island to shoot 'Noah' - Darren Aronofsky's take on the eponymous biblical figure and his famous ark.
Before 'Noah', Crowe will star alongside Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway in Tom Hooper's adaptation of the successful stage musical 'Les Miserables' based on Victor Hugo's classic novel.
