Gemma Arterton thinks "no frills" movies are "refreshing".
The British actress - who recently appeared in 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' - has revealed she likes working on simple, unfussy movies because the Hollywood film industry can be overly complicated.
She said: "These are the sort of movies I am proud of and I will continue to make films like this.
"This is the sort of movie I always imagined I'd end up doing. This is the sort of movie I'd go to see in the cinema.
"It's basic, there's no frills with this sort of thing - it's refreshing for you when you're involved in the Hollywood machine."
Discussing her latest movie 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' - where her character is kidnapped by two men - the 24-year-old star also admitted she is unfazed by nude scenes.
She to the BBC: "I've not got a problem with nudity in films if it's absolutely appropriate - and it was completely appropriate in this film. I just got on with it and treated it like any other part."
Meanwhile, Gemma is preparing to take a break from her career as she weds her stuntman fiance Ben Cooke.
She added: "I don't know what I'm going to do next. I've got a few months off - I'm getting married - but now I'm being more selective with what I'm going to do."
'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' is out in cinemas in the UK on April 30.
