Ryan Reynolds has revealed he had to stay in his coffin on the set of 'Buried' for hours at a time, only being allowed out for lunch.
Ryan Reynolds was only allowed out of his "coffin" on the set of 'Buried' for lunch.
The 33-year-old actor - who plays a man imprisoned in a coffin in Iraq with only a mobile phone and a lighter in the new movie - wasn't allowed to get out of the claustrophobic space because it took too long to get back in again.
He said: "It takes 10, 15, 20 minutes to get in there, so I'm not allowed to get out because it would delay us too much.
"For the last five days of the shoot I was pretty much in the coffin, I didn't really get to leave much, maybe lunch that was about it."
However, the Canadian-born star insists he doesn't really suffer from claustrophobia so he didn't have too much of a hard time dealing with the gruelling shoot.
Asked if he had a fear of enclosed spaces, Ryan - who is married to Scarlett Johansson - said: "Not any more than the normal guy. I think everyone's a little claustrophobic in those circumstances, it's crazy.
"I have this one fear of being unprepared for something. That's so stupid. It's like childhood c**p that catches up to you.
"So, for me, it's getting caught with my pants down, metaphorically!"
