Nicollette Sheridan - Nicollette Sheridan To Begin Desperate Housewives Re-trial

The former Desperate Housewives actress Nicollette Sheridan has been given a date for a second trial, after a mistrial was declared in her first attempt to sue her ex-bosses. The TV show itself will be calling it a day on May 13, 2012 but the Washington Post reports that Sheridan will be looking to resurrect her accusations of wrongful dismissal on September 10, 2012.
In the original trial, Nicolette claimed that her character, Edie Britt, was unfairly killed off, after she complained about the show's creator Marc Cherry striking her on her head whilst they were on set, in 2008. The charge against Cherry was dropped part way through the trial. The former Abc Entertainment president, Steve MCPherson and the former Abc Studios chief Mark Pedowitz both testified that the decision to kill off Sheridan's character had been made well before the incident between her and Cherry even occurred. The trial was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Deadlocked at 8 to 4, a mistrial was declared. Sheridan will now have to go through the procedure once more in an attempt to prove that she was unfairly dismissed.
Earlier this month, Daily Mail published a number of photos of Sheridan enjoying a relaxing beach holiday in St. Barts with her mystery boyfriend. No doubt she's trying to put the stress of the trial behind her and gearing up for a re-run later in the year.
