Nicolette Sheridan To Quit Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan is to leave the domestic drama, US television network ABC has confirmed.

The 45-year-old actress, who stars as the troublesome Edie Britt, is likely to depart during the current fifth series, no further details about her exit have been confirmed.

Born in Rustington, West Sussex, in 1963, Sheridan attended Millfield School in Somerset before emigrating to the US in 1973.

It is believed her final episode will be aired in April, though the manner of her departure has not yet been confirmed.

Though not one of the four main characters in the ABC comedy-drama, Sheridan has been a constant and popular character throughout the show's five-year run.

Her character left Wisteria Lane at the end of season four, but returned for the following series, set five years after the previous season finale.
