Stood outside the Metro Radio Arena, Nicole posed for photographs, wearing a one shoulder, emerald green dress and MTV News have confirmed that she will now be replacing Kelly Rowland full time. Rowland served as a judge on the show last season but chose not to return to the series this year. There has been a great deal of speculation over who would be on the judging panel this season, after Tulisa became embroiled in a sex tape scandal earlier this year. However, Simon Cowell, the show's creator stood by her and stressed that she would be welcome back on the show.

Scherzinger has told reporters that she's excited to be re-joining the show; this time on a more permanent basis. "It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists." She faced fierce competition for the role, though, with several female pop stars having acted as guest judges in recent weeks as the show's producers looked for a permanent replacement. Geri Halliwell, Leona Lewis, Anastacia and Rita Ora have all been on the show, but it was Nicole who landed the contract.
