Nicole Kidman Returns To Form In 'Hemingway And Gellhorn'

Nicole Kidman's new movie 'The Paperboy' attracted some less than complimentary reviews at the Cannes Film Festival last week, though another of her latest projects, Hbo movie 'Hemingway and Gellhorn', is impressing critics ahead of its premiere on (May 28, 2012).

The movie stars Clive Owen as Ernest Hemingway and Kidman as his lover Martha Gellhorn, and follows the couple's tempestuous romance from the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. Already a famous name in the literary world, Hemingway becomes attracted to Gellhorn because she isn't intimidated by his fame nor his swashbuckling masculinity. In their review of the movie, the Hollywood Reporter lauded Kidman for her assured performance, saying, "Kidman is terrific in certain scenes and merely very good in others. for the most part, she rivets one's attention, lifting the entire enterprise by her presence". The New York Magazine echoed the praise, saying, "Kidman's work here is more than just a case of astute casting. This is her sharpest, most natural work in any major role, and she's just right for the filmmakers' approach".

Kidman is currently filming the 'The Railway Man' - a drama about a victim of World War II's 'Death Railway' who sets out to find those responsible for his torture.
