Nicole Kidman For Best Actress Oscar?
The Los Angeles Times report that NICOLE KIDMAN has been creating a strong buzz in the lead-actress race for next year's Academy Awards. The Australian's performance in upcoming film 'Rabbit Hole' has been described as 'easily her best work since winning an Oscar for 2002's The Hours' by Deadline Hollywood.
Despite initially having trouble finding a distributor, 'Rabbit Hole' is now set to hit screens in 2011 and the movie focuses on a mother's struggle to cope with the death of her 4-year-old son. Speculation as to whether Kidman will get an Oscar nod has been fuelled by the fact that CYNTHIA NIXON won a Tony Award for the same role in the 2006 Broadway production, which was also nominated for best play.
JOHN CAMERON MITCHELL has directed the screen adaptation, and his edgy artistic style has gained much praise by critics, with the New York Post describing the film as 'darkly funny'. The film, which also stars AARON ECKHART and SANDRA OH had its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Monday 13th September 2010 to favourable reviews. As well as appearing in 'Rabbit Hole', Kidman is currently filming the JOEL SCHUMACHER directed thriller 'Trespass', which is also set for release in 2011.
