Stevie Nicks - Nicks Thanks Stewart & Daughter For Career Boost

Stevie Nicks has Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly to thank for the success of her latest album - because it was her idea for the Fleetwood Mac star to tour with her dad.
Nicks has had somewhat of a career revival in recent months and she thinks a lot of it has to do with her recent North American tour with rocking Rod.
She says, "It was his daughter's idea and it ended up to be really fun.
"Rod is very, very funny and very charming. It was great. It gave me a platform to go across the United States - 18 arenas - and play my new songs."

Behati Prinsloo And Adam Levine Off On Honeymoon Across The World After Cabo Wedding 4295939 News

Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine are married! The couple tied the knot in Mexico over the weekend, so let’s recap the details of their long-awaited wedding. Because these are things we all need to know, obviously.

Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo
Beautiful people getting married in a luxury seaside resort? Yes, please.

The longtime couple tied the knot at Flora Farms in Cabo San Lucas, a favorite destination of rich spring breakers and VS models, apparently. Prinsloo’s Marchesa gown is yet to make its way onto her Instagram and/or the pages of People magazine, but apparently it was a thing of beauty.

But lest you think it was a day of excess and luxury… well, it probably was, but at least the couple asked their guests to donate to charity instead of getting wedding gifts. There were about 300 guests in attendance and Stevie Nicks flew in for a special performance at the reception, according to E! News.

Levine, 35, and Prinsloo, 25, will honeymoon in South Africa, the website also reports. The couple first went public with their relationship in June 2012. After a brief split, they got back together and announced their engagement last July. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Christine McVie To Hit The Road With Fleetwood Mac, In Long-Awaited Reunion 4128469 News

Fleetwood Mac have announced that not only has Christine McVie joined the band's line-up but that they are headed on a full North American tour and are working on a new album. The band have confirmed the rumours themselves, leaving the scores of Fleetwood Mac fans both in North American and worldwide excited for more material and live appearances from the British-American rockers.

"I have very high hopes for all of this," guitarist Lindsey Buckingham told USA Today, adding "We've only been in the studio a week, and it's been really beautiful," she said. Buckingham spoke of how Christine had been getting reacquainted with the piano, having not performed professionally for so long.

"It took getting into the studio before we started to see things unfold in an effective and comfortable way. Christine was not sure how her voice was going to be. It will be a little bit of a slow process with her piano chops. But all the stuff inside her is still intact, and she's getting in touch with a process that's been lying dormant for a while," the 64 year-old revealed.

McVie joined the band in 1970 and was responsible for some of the group's biggest hits, including 'Say You Love Me,' 'Don't Stop,' 'You Make Loving Fun' and 'Little Lies.' After three decades of success with the group, the English singer and keyboardist left in 1998 due to what she has today revealed to be a fear of flying.

Speaking about her 15-year-hiatus, the 70 year-old said: "There were times I didn't touch a piano for months. "There were dry spells, but I'm not worried about it. The chemistry is great. Obviously, I've got to relearn all those songs to get my muscle memory working."

Stevie Nicks regrets drug treatment 4054097 News

Stevie Nicks ''lost eight years'' of her life to prescription medication.

The Fleetwood Mac singer no longer has faith in the medical profession after being prescribed Klonopin, an anti-anxiety drug, to help her from relapsing into cocaine addiction in 1986 but now doesn't think the pills were necessary and can't help but wonder what would have happened in her life if she hadn't had the treatment.

She said: ''I was on Klonopin. It's a tranquiliser. You're tranquil. I stayed home in a really beautiful house, watched a lot of TV, and ordered from Jerry's deli. I went from 125 up to 173 pounds.

''One day I woke up and said, 'This doctor is insane. He's a groupie who wanted to have me come in a couple times a month to talk about rock 'n' roll'. I learned a valuable lesson. Never trust doctors, ever. I called up my best friend and said come get me and take me to a hospital. I spent 45 days there and got over it.

''I had gotten out of Betty Ford [rehab clinic] three months before I went to see him and I was doing great. But everyone was worried I was going to start using cocaine again. So I lost eight years of my life. Think of what could have happened during those eight years. I might have gotten married, I might have had a baby, I certainly would have made more albums.''

Despite many years passing, Stevie, 65, still feels resentment towards the doctor.

Asked if she is still angry, she told the New York Times newspaper: ''If I was driving a car and he was crossing the street I might run over him.''

John Mayer Takes Over Katy Perry's Twitter Account 4008640 News

One of Katy Perry's dreams came true Monday night (December 30) in Las Vegas when one of her idols, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks, dedicated a song to her. According to MTV, the singer has long been a fan of Nicks, and has talked about her love for the singer, previously telling ABC she "sees straight through my soul."

Perry was apparently so speechless, her boyfriend John Mayer had to take over her phone. Or so he said.

The Twitter takeover wasn't completely unknown to Perry, and Mayer said she was watching his every move.

Mayer and Perry have been showing off their love recently, performing their song "Who You Love" on Mayer's tour as well as on Ellen and Good Morning America. For a bachelor who has been known for breaking his girlfriends' hearts, the relationship with Perry has (surprisingly) lasted a very long time.

Perry was in Vegas over the weekend, also making an appearance at the launch of Britney Spears' two-year residency. The singer was in the audience along with Selena Gomez, Britney's family and a dancing Miley Cyrus.

Stevie Nicks also had a busy weekend. The songstress officiated fellow singer Vanessa Carlton's wedding on Friday (December 27). If all goes well with Perry and Mayer, would Nicks agree to officiate their wedding next?

Vanessa Carlton Has Dreamy Winter Wedding To John McCauley, Stevie Nicks Officiates 4007910 News

It’s a fact that if Stevie Nicks officiates your wedding, it is going to be an exciting affair. It must have been so for Vanessa Carlton and John McCauley, who just had the 65-year-old singer/songwriter preside over their special day, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"align=center lang="en"><p>Thanks Stevie for marrying us! <a href="http://t.co/E2ujXZf6P9" rel="nofollow" >pic.twitter.com/E2ujXZf6P9</a></p>&mdash; Vanessa Carlton (@VanessaCarlton) <a href="https://twitter.com/VanessaCarlton/statuses/416755837755863041" rel="nofollow" >December 28, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The ceremony took place on Saturday, December 28 and, if Carlton’s twitter posts are any indication, it was an intimate and romantic celebration, featuring fairy lights, flower crowns and kisses at sunset. The wedding had an outdoorsy theme to it, with the couple exchanging vows on a hilltop at sunset.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"align=center lang="en"><p>Married this gentleman two hours ago xo <a href="http://t.co/q4ZGxszvNp" rel="nofollow" >pic.twitter.com/q4ZGxszvNp</a></p>&mdash; Vanessa Carlton (@VanessaCarlton) <a href="https://twitter.com/VanessaCarlton/statuses/416752937478520832" rel="nofollow" >December 28, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Carlton later tweeted several photos, including one of the couple sharing a kiss, which she captioned: 'Married this gentleman two hours ago xo.'

Carlton, 33, first met the Deer Tick singer when he contacted her on Twitter and the two started dating soon after. 'We met through Patrick Hallahan, from My Morning Jacket. He introduced us after I went on Vanessa's Twitter and said, "Hey, VC let's get a beer,''' said McCauley in an interview with Billboard. 'I had just figured out how to use Twitter so I was really proud of myself.'

Sounds like the perfect modern day love story.

Stevie Nicks Sings Beyonce's Praises: "She's Not Skanky" 3872318 News

Singer Stevie Nick's has branded R&B star Beyoncé with a big stamp of "great" during an interview with the Telegraph on Sunday. Nicks has been known to speak out harshly against other musicians, but it appears the 65 year-old Fleetwood Mac star can't sing 'Halo' popstar Beyoncé's praises highly enough.

Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks Is Proud To Share The Music Industry With Beyoncé.

"Beyoncé's great. She's got her alter ego [Sasha Fierce], but Beyoncé the girl, the woman, is very sweet and nice and polite. "She's a good role model. She's not skanky. I'm glad we have her," Stevie said to the newspaper. The stars met in 2001 when Nicks featured in Destiny's Child's 'Bootilicious' video after the song sampled Nicks' own 'Edge of Seventeen' 1981 hit song. It is not known if the two performers have interacted since but it seems that Queen Bey left a lasting impact on the rock singer.

Britney Spears also faced scrutiny from Nicks, but not in a good way. In 2003, Stevie called out Britney after her MTV VMAs kiss with Madonna, having said that she needs to "figure a way out of this hole she has dug for herself." Nicks also disparaged Spears' pop career, telling Extra in 2009 that Britney is not a "real rock star" because she "did not join a band when she was 18 and practice every day for five hours Monday through Friday and then play gigs Friday, Saturday and Sunday." Beyoncé is truly blessed.

Nicks also spoke of how she felt compelled to write the Glee cast a heart-felt letter after Cory Monteith's death this summer: "I said, 'Forgive me if I'm stepping into your personal space. I lost my godson to an overdose last year - he died at a fraternity party - so I do understand how shocking that is.' "When what happened to Cory happened, I just was sick for days. Honestly, just sick. It's just so prevalent. It's everywhere. It's worse than when we were young."

Stevie Nicks Has a Lot Of Time For Beyonce Because She's "Not Skanky" 3872071 News

She went on to add that the singer has remained herself since she burst on to the music scene in 1998 with Destiny's Child, and that after she met the star in 2001 on the set of the Destiny's Child music video for 'Bootylicious,' Stevie was overwhelmed by how down to Earth the singer was. She continued, "She's a good role model. She's not skanky. I'm glad we have her."

In her discussion with the paper, Nicks didn't just sing the praises of Beyoncé, as she also discussed drugs, addiction, botox and bury the hatchet with her old bandmates ahead of their reunion.

The singer left a big impression on Nicks when they met in 2001

“Botox makes everybody look like Satan’s children. You’d have to tie me down to get me to do it again," the rock legend said about the ever-popular procedure. She was equally as disparaging about casual drug use and the addiction that it often leads to, speaking candidly about her relationship with the Glee cast and how she offered herself out for advice and someone to talk to following the death of Cory Monteith.

“I said, 'Forgive me if I’m stepping into your personal space. I lost my godson to an overdose last year – he died at a fraternity party – so I do understand how shocking that is,’" she said. "When what happened to Cory happened, I just was sick for days. Honestly, just sick. It’s just so prevalent. It’s everywhere. It’s worse than when we were young.”

Fleetwood Mac will be heading out on tour with a completed, 'classic' line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Nicks, with the retired Christine McVie even stating that she'll make a cameo appearance during their London residency at the O2 Arena. Full tour details are available on their official website.

Beyoncé Knowles Carter is never going to be an artist lacking in fans, and even the artists who may have influenced the 'Grown Woman' singer are full of praise for her, namely, Stevie Nicks. The Fleetwood Mac singer was speaking with The Telegraph recently about the latest Fleetwood reunion, when she gave Bey a glowing review for her level head and the way she handles fame and presents herself to her many adoring fans.

Stevie Nicks Lectured Lindsey Buckingham In Candid Phone Call 3863333 News

Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks rebuilt bridges with her former lover and bandmate Lindsey Buckingham by spending 90 minutes lecturing him about their 35-year friendship.

The pair lived together for five years before joining the band in 1975 but their romance ended a few years later and Nicks has been bottling up her feelings about Buckingham ever since.

The Don't Stop hitmakers announced last year (12) they were reuniting for a tour, and Nicks poured her heart out to Buckingham in a mammoth phone call in a desperate bid to clear the air ahead of the comeback.

She tells U.K. Tv show Loose Women, "We are getting along probably better than we ever have... Because about a year and a half ago I had a talk with Lindsey. I had the 'everything I wanted to say to you for 35 years' talk. I started in 1968 and I worked up... I started with (recalling how) he cut my fingernail off once because he decided I should practice guitar more. That was not a good move on his part. And I went from there all the way up until now.

"I said, you know, 'Do you remember how funny and sweet we were? Do you remember how cute we were? Do you remember how when we walked in the room we were a power couple... Do you know how long it's been since we have not been that power couple? If we are going to do this again, we've got to go back to the way we were.'

"He was very quiet. It was a solid hour and a half where I never stopped talking... It's much better now since the talk. Now we walk onstage and we are holding hands."

Stevie Nicks And Sheryl Crow Struggling To Find Boyfriends 3712933 News

Singer Stevie Nicks is convinced she and her longtime pal Sheryl Crow are destined to be single for the rest of their lives because they are too famous to find dates.

Nicks has been married once, to her tragic best friend's widower, Kim Anderson, while Crow, who has romanced the likes of Owen Wilson and Lance Armstrong, is a single mother with two young adopted children.

The pair has been looking for love and a partner to settle down with for years, but the Landslide hitmaker admits it's difficult for them to meet suitors due to their celebrity.

She tells New York Magazine, "When we were really young, it was a lot easier... I mean, where am I gonna meet somebody?... Like, I'm gonna go to a bar? And hang out?"

And Nicks just wishes they could use a matchmaking service - joking about the absurdity of creating an online profile, she says, "Hi! My name is Stevie Nicks, and I'm looking for somebody that is no more than five years older than me. Please no health problems, no diabetes, no heart disease, no gout, please, no bipolar; if you're on an antidepressant, not good.

"(Or) 'Hi! You know, I'm in a band called Fleetwood Mac, and, you know, I'm looking for, like, a guy who's, like, tall... I don't really date younger men, so, you know, anywhere, from, I guess I could go as young as 58. And as old as 68. Not 70. Just 68. And, um, I like to travel, but I have an assistant, and she always has to come with me because I really gave up packing a long time ago."

Crow feels the same way: "It is hard! Relationships are hard enough, but to be a strong woman who's also in front of a large audience of people who are trying to connect with you - it's threatening."
