Crone himself declined to meet with reporters today (Friday) after being arrested on Thursday and being questioned by police regarding his role in the scandal and its subsequent cover-up. Following his release on bail Brandman released a statement saying, "My client has fully assisted the police in their enquiries. He categorically denies the commission of or involvement in any criminal offense. Neither he nor I will be making any further public statement."
