Paul Newman- My dad, now a retired brain surgeon, was a big fan of his; Back in the summer of 1986 I was able to arrange a brief meeting with Mr. Newman and my dad at an auto racing event in Cleveland, Ohio. When Mr. Newman met my dad and realized who he was he invited us into his motor home for an evening dinner. They talked about Mr. Newman's career and he asked my dad question after question about the brain (brain transplants he had done), his religious position, what the pope thought, Gorbachave, etc. etc. all sorts of deep questions. The 3-4 hours we spent with him and some of his associates was amazing as was his wit, candor, sense of humor and view of mankind. It was like these guys were two peas in a pod- I guess my take on the whole evening was that were all in the same basket... just try to make the basket better when you leave. He autographed a tire I had gotten from the winning car and even did a marlon brando joke autograph. We made a promise to meet again. But that summer evening spent 20 years ago was and always will be a precious, magical memory..... Mr. Newman knew what this game called of life is all about and I'm sure is looking down on all of us now having a good laugh..... Thanks Paul Newman.... from me and my Dad... he still talks about that summer night like it was yesterday.... Mike and Doc from Shaker Heights....

I am a 64 year old woman, who was a fan of Mr. Newmans. I admired the fact that he liked his privacy & was given it during his life as well as after his death. I think that speaks very highly of his fans & family. To think of all the good he did during his life without expecting praise makes me only think more highly of him. I do hope his wishes of his foundation continuing happens. Most stars would have been talking about all they had given but he did it from his heart as it should be done. There will be a special place in heaven for Mr. Newman. God Bless you, & keep you in his tender care Annette
