Pop-punk rockers Fall Out Boy announced their return to the music scene recently, after a 5 year hiatus. Their new single The Phoenix, to be taken off their fifth studio record Save Rock and Roll, has a shiney new video for you all to watch, and you can do that here.

"I've always thought it arrogant if you're a band who hasn't played for a while and you play a bunch of new songs when people want to hear the crowd pleasers," says bass player Pete Wentz ahead of shows in Sydney and Melbourne this week. "But the single Light 'Em Up is a clue to the sound of the new record so we'll be playing that one."

Save Rock And Roll will be out in the UK on April 15 and a day later in the US, and its title is fairly self-explanatory. "When I listen to the radio it all sounds the same as if someone figured out a math equation to make a hit record," adds the ever- outspoken Wentz. "It feels like the same couple of people are making all the songs so we'd like to do our bit to smash that idea down.

Fall Out Boy, and particularly Wentz, have never been afraid to the music scene exactly what they think of it, and they haven’t let their break from the industry dilute their disdain. “When I listen to the radio it all sounds the same as if someone figured out a math equation to make a hit record," says Wentz. "It feels like the same couple of people are making all the songs so we'd like to do our bit to smash that idea down."
