Nelson Mandela - Nelson Mandela's Granddaughters Launch Reality Show

Nelson Mandela's granddaughters are set to star in their own reality TV show.

The former South African president's granddaughters Swati Dlamini and Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway will be seen in the show, 'Being Mandela', promoting their grandfather's legacy and juggling their own lives, including launching a fashion line.

The pair claim Nelson, 94, has given them his blessing and the reality show won't tarnish his reputation.

They said: ''We get asked this question a lot. Is this not going to tarnish the name and is this not going to be bad for the name? But our grandparents have always said to us, this is our name too, and we can do what we think is best fitting with the name, as long as we treat it with respect and integrity.''

In the show, Swati and Zaziwe - who were largely raised in exile in the United States - will visit the prison on Robben Island where their grandfather spent 18 of the 27 years he was imprisoned by South Africa's apartheid government.

They will also be seen launching a fashion line, 'Long Walk to Freedom', which is the title of Nelson's autobiography.

Their grandmother, the political leader's ex-wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will also appear in the show.

The 13-episode series begins on US network COZI TV this weekend.
