Needtobreathe - Needtobreathe Rockers Cringed At Employee Of The Month Song Use

Rockers Needtobreathe no longer attend previews of films their songs feature on after sitting through an "awkward" screening of Jessica Simpson movie Employee Of The Month - because they didn't find the comedy funny at all.
The South Carolina stars have had their tracks featured on movies like P.S. I Love You and When In Rome, and TV series including The Hills, Prison Break and Cougar Town.
Frontman Bear Rinehart reveals the group has "very little" input into where their songs are placed, and one particular film feature, for their tune Shine On in 2006, left them cringing with embarrassment.
He tells WENN, "The first time we were ever in a big thing, this movie called Employee of the Month, everybody wanted us to go watch it.
"The label actually wanted us to go watch it and they were fielding our reactions to the movie and the movie is really not funny! It's supposed to be funny, so it was a very awkward situation. We're sitting in the theatre trying to fake laugh. The song doesn't come on until the very end of the movie so needless to say, we haven't really been making appointments like that to see our songs in movies and TV shows since!"
Rinehart insists hearing Needtobreathe's songs on mainstream media fascinates him because it gives the band exposure to so many different audiences.
He says, "It's been pretty hysterical to see our songs (used) in stuff like Wwe (World Wrestling Entertainment)... It's interesting to see the reach it has because when we were in Europe, people would come up and say, 'I heard your song on Cougar Town', and it's like, 'Really?' It's a cool way to get our music out there and for people to hear it in a way that's different from radio or traditional means."
But there's one show Rinehart would love to hear his band on. He adds, "Entourage would be a pretty cool thing."
