Nbc Takes Nine Of Top-ten Rated Shows

NBC managed to place nine shows in the Nielsen top ten last week, including the series premiere of Go On (at No. 10) and the season premiere of The Voice (at No. 4), but CBS, with a slate of mostly reruns, remained the most-watched network overall. NBC, however, did grab the top spot among 18-49 year olds, the age group favored by advertisers -- but it won among that group in a photo-finish with Fox. The highest-rated show for the week -- as it No Doubt will continue to be through January -- was Sunday Night Football, which kicked off the season with 21.33 million viewers. The Voice claimed 12.36 million viewers on Monday night and 11.42 million on Tuesday. Go On was launched with 9.73 million. CBS placed only one show in the top ten -- the venerable magazine, 60 Minutes (a rerun) at No. 3. NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams retained the title as the No. 1 evening newscast with an average of 8.15 million viewers, trailed in second place by ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, which attracted 7.60 million viewers. The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was in third place with 5.74 million viewers. For the week, CBS finished first with an overall household rating of 6.2 with a 10 share. NBC followed with a 4.9/8. ABC placed third with a 4.7/8, followed by Fox with a 4.5/7.
