Nbc Denies Paying For Hilton Interview

US network NBC has denied offering PARIS HILTON $1 million (GBP500,000) to secure the first interview with her after her release from jail next week (begs25Jun07). A number of sources claimed NBC news was prepared to pay the sum - but a spokesperson insists the claims are completely unfounded. Allison Gollust insists, "We don't pay for interviews and we'll never pay for interviews, and I have no interview to confirm." Hilton's spokesperson Elliot Mintz also denied any knowledge of a deal, saying, "I can't comment because I really and truly don't know." NBC was able to side-step its payment policy to secure an interview with British royals Princes William and Harry, by paying to air a concert in honour of their late mother Diana, Princess of Wales on 1 July (07).
