Nas - Nas Files Motion To Dismiss Lawsuit
A lawyer for Nas has asked a U.S. judge to dismiss a lawsuit against his client over the rapper's failure to stage a concert in Angola.
Allgood Entertainment promoter Patrick Allocco filed a $10 million (£6.3 million) lawsuit against the star in December (12) over allegations he and his son were kidnapped in the country after Nas, real name Nasir Jones, missed his flight from the U.S. and was unable to perform during a special New Year's Eve show in 2011.
But on Monday (29Apr13) the I Can hitmaker's attorney, Jonathan Davis, filed a motion to dismiss the suit, claiming Allocco is at fault for not paying the 39 year old on time or making the proper travel arrangements, according to Nj.com.
The hip-hop star has maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal, saying, "(Allocco) booked the flight, but no return flight. I didn't have a (work) visa... (Allocco) didn't send money 'til after I was supposed to jump on the plane to another country. He was in some crazy danger in Africa so he threw me under the bus."
