Myleene Klass - Myleene Klass Wades Into Breastfeeding Debate

British pop star-turned-Tv presenter Myleene Klass has waded into the debate surrounding breastfeeding, insisting new mothers should be free to make their own choices.
The former Hear'Say singer is mother to two daughters, three-year-old Ava and Hero, who was born last month (May11).
Klass is adamant mothers shouldn't be pressurised over whether they feed their children naturally or not, and she hopes to help stamp out the stigma attached to breastfeeding in public.
In an article for Britain's The Sun newspaper, she writes, "I got involved in this debate because there are so many women out there who don't have a voice. A lot feel huge pressure to breastfeed even if their circumstances dictate otherwise. They are made to feel like failures by so-called experts before they've even started... If breastfeeding is not for you and is going to make you feel unhappy, surely that can't be good for your baby...
"My daughter Hero is breastfed, as was my firstborn, Ava, for six months. The flipside is the backlash some women face for breastfeeding in public... We need to have confidence to let women make their own choices... Hopefully, by having this debate, by the time Hero and Ava have children they will feel free to make a choice without the pressure women face today."

Sorry but this annoys me, I'm all for choice but why the hell are women complaining about feeling pressurised?? For quite a while women who wanted to breastfeed had little to no support whatsoever from the health professionals! Maybe if I'd had the support available now when I had my firstborn I might have gone longer than 5 weeks! It was a case of "oh that's lovely dear, off you go then" and of course I gave up at the first hurdle. Now there is no end of support available, IF you want to do it. Nobody is holding a gun to your head! It you can't do it or don't want to then that is fine by me, I don't care I made my own decisions and I won't force them on others but ask yourself one thing, are they getting at you or are they trying to help you? Are you the one making yourself feel guilty? I think so....*rant over*One more thing, I'm on baby number four now and I've breastfed all of my children, whenever and wherever they got hungry. I have never had anyone come up to me and complain about me doing so, not once! I'd love to know if these "busybodies" actually exist at all.
