U.S record producer KEN NELSON has died. He was 96. The former head of country A+R for Capitol Records died at his home in California on Sunday (06Jan08), and according to his daughter Claudia Nelson, he had not been ill prior to his death. Nelson was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and was credited with helping the careers of Ferlin Husky, Wynn Stewart, Tommy Collins and Jean Shepard. His daughter confirmed that Nelson will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
