Muse - Muse Start Recording New Album

Muse started recording their new album this week.

The 'Supermassive Black Hole' rockers have headed to the studio to work on their sixth album, the follow up to 2009's 'The Resistance'.

Singer and songwriter Matt Bellamy tweeted on Sunday (20.11.11): "About to start some recording tomorrow. What musical direction shall we go in?"

He then jokingly added: "Ok, will start on Christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia (sic)."

The group - which also includes bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard - have previously said they are hoping to record the album in London, the first time they have made a record in the English capital, which they are hoping will be a fairly relaxed process.

Matt said: "We've actually never made a full album in London, we've made bits here occasionally.

"It would be nice to be based in the same place so we can go out and so we can make an album together and also socialise together at the same time.

"It also means we can make the album over a longer period of time without having to pressurise it all in to a three week studio session, you can spread it out."

The group have previously made records across various studios in the UK, in the US, and 'The Resistance' was recorded in Lake Como, Italy, where Matt has a home.
