Muse promise futuristic live gigs

Muse have promised fans dancing aliens and kung-fu during their live tour.

The 'Madness' hitmakers are planning an unforgettable and extravagant stage show featuring extraterrestrials and some funky dance moves thanks to up-to-the-minute technology.

Drummer Dominic Howard revealed there will be ''dancing aliens'' and ''me doing some kung-fu at some point onstage''.

He told BBC Newsbeat: ''On stage we're going to have these huge upside-down pyramid which can turn itself inside out, it represents the power hierarchy turned on its head.

''I'm going to do some kung fu and fend off some businessmen, who are losing their minds as they realize they've lost everyone's money.''

''We made this huge upside down pyramid, which is made out of LED screens so we can put visuals on it.

''Basically this screen moves and can morph into different shapes. It will come down and completely consume me on my drum kit.''

The British band are keen to keep rock music alive and to honour the ''human'' aspect of playing live, even though they have conceded to some digital remastering on new album 'The 2nd Law' to achieve a more futuristic sound.

Dominic explained: ''People will pay money to see someone with a laptop who's done all the experimentation at home and pretty much just hits the space bar.

''There is a part of us that is definitely clinging to the organic, human side of music, to honour our friendship and the fact that we want to play together in a room.

''We're not afraid to bring new elements into the equation but we're not quite prepared to go full robot. I think we're kind of cyborgy!''

Muse kick off their UK tour on October 24 in Glasgow, concluding on November 3 in Dublin.
