Murray Gets Lost In Translation At New York Karaoke Bar

Bill Murray has re-enacted a famous scene from his movie Lost In Translation by singing karaoke with a group of young partygoers in New York City.

The actor was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as a lonely movie star stuck in Japan, who befriends a young college-graduate, played by Scarlett Johansson.

The characters famously spend an evening at a karaoke bar in the critically-acclaimed 2003 film, and Murray delighted revellers at the Karaoke One 7 venue in Manhattan recently by joining a young group of friends for an evening of singing.

A number of pictures of Murray belting out hits at the bar have emerged online on TheChive.com and the user who posted the snaps, named only as Mike, told the publication about his unplanned evening of fun with the Hollywood star.

The post reads, "We get a knock on the door (of the karaoke booth). It's f**king Bill Murray. We were all shocked of course... but he was super nice and they all fit right in. His girl was really cute... She sang a bunch of random French songs...

"The high point was when Bill and I sang a duet of an Elvis song called Marie's The Name. Random, I know, but so was the night... We tried not to make him feel uncomfortable, though of course we all later joked about picking the Ghostbusters theme (to sing). Amazingly they stuck around the entire night, around four hours... Viva Bill Murray!"
